New Peer Educator Orientation

The Office of Academic Support for Undergraduate Students (OASUS) offers professional development for peer educators in select programs at Rice. We invite you to register for this Fall semester’s New Peer Educator Orientation if you are 1) an OASUS Peer Educator, or 2) a peer educator in a participating program. Your course professor or program director will notify you directly if you are eligible to attend the OASUS Orientation. All participants will be paid for their participation. This orientation is required for new OASUS Peer Educators.

Saturday, August 31, 9am-3pm
O’Connor Building for Engineering & Science, Room 130

  • The Foundations of Peer support
  • Equity and Inclusion in the Peer Tutoring Space
  • Strategies for Meaningful Learning
  • Light breakfast and lunch will be served.

Sunday, September 1, 9am-12pm
O’Connor Building for Engineering & Science, Room 130

  • Working with Groups
  • Ethics and Professionalism
  • Presentation of certificates of completion
  • A light breakfast will be served.
