The OASUS Testing Center is an alternative testing space designed to support accommodated testing needs at Rice. Located on the 5th floor of the Fondren Library, the center offers access to a distraction-reduced testing environment, alternative testing hours, and assistive technologies to support a variety of testing needs.

The Testing Center is open for a limited pilot in the Spring of 2025. During this time, students who have been granted registered accommodations through the Disability Resource Center and are enrolled in the courses below will be able to schedule exams for these courses at the center.

Spring 2025 Pilot Courses:

  • BIOS 341 Cell Biology, Prof. Phillips
  • PHYS 126, General Physics II, Profs. Stenson, Dodds, Kiang, Bonomo, Beaird, and Acosta
  • CHEM 211, Organic Chemistry I, Prof. Jeffrey Hartgerink
  • CHEM 313, Organic Chemistry II, Prof. Lesley O'Leary
  • SOSC 302, Social Sciences Statistics, Prof. Todd Ferguson
  • NEUR 362-001, Cognitive Neuroscience, Prof. Bart Moore

While the OASUS Testing Center is one option for the accommodated testing needs of students in select courses, all Rice students with registered disabilities are entitled to an accommodated testing environment. Students with registered disabilities should refer to their accommodation letters or contact the Disability Resource Center (adarice@rice.edu) for guidance in accessing accommodations. We are pleased to partner with the DRC in our effort to expand ease of access to accommodated testing environments at Rice and look forward to making our center available to more students in the future.

See the links above for more information about scheduling a test or partnering with us to provide the service to your students.
